There’s a lot of hand-wringing over AI capex right now.
Google spends. Meta spends. Tesla spends. As do 100 other massive companies. Then the Financial Times wheels out another commentator to explain why it’s all a giant, dangerous bubble.
Of course they do.
But businesses are supposed to spend money when they see a genuine opportunity to change their industry.
I’d put more weight on the capital allocation decisions of companies with enormous balance sheets and a profit motive than a media cycle built around finding the dark cloud.
The bigger point is what this spending forces into existence.
